specification to the extent specified herein. Unless otherwise indicated, the
issue in effect on date of invitation for bids or request for proposals shall

REQUIREMENTS

3.1 Materials. Materials shall be in accordance with applicable drawings,
specifications an d standards.

3.3 Safety and arming device (S&A
(Type II). References to "MIL-D-60953" on Type I S&A drawings shall be
changed to "MIL-F-48057", wherever they occur.)
3.3.1 Non-arming. The device shall not release the power supply striker
(Type I) or the release pin (Type II) nor shall the detonator rotate into line
with the explosive train when any acceleration between zero and 12 g's is
applied in any direction.
3.3.2 Arming. The device shall release the power supply striker (Type I)
or the Release Pin (Type II) and the detonator shall rotate into line with the
explosive train, and the arming detent shall engage the rotor when any
acceleration between 27 and 40 g's is applied coincident with the longitudinal
axis toward the open end of the Striker (Type I) or the release pin (Type II)
housing.
3.3.3 Arming time.
3.3.3.1 Twenty-seven g. The time between the application of the
acceleration and the arming of the device shall be between 1.23 and 1.70
seconds. The device shall meet this requirement at any temperature between
minus 40 and plus 160 degrees F.
3.3.3.2 Forty g. The time between the application of acceleration and
the arming of the device shall be between 1.03 and 1,35 seconds. The device
shall meet this requirement at any temperature between minus 40 and plus 160
degrees F.
