MIL-F-48877A (AR)
3 .13.4.1 Ambient temperature arming. The S&A assembly,
after conditioning at a temperature of 70 ± 15°F for 2 hours
minimum, shall arm between 0.70 and 0.90 second when subjected to
an arming acceleration of 55.0 ± 0.5 g.
3 .13.4.2 Low temperature arming. The S&A assembly after
being conditioned at a temperature of -50 ± 5°F for 3 hours
minimum, shall arm between 0.70 and 0.90 second when subjected to
an arming acceleration of 55.0 ± 0.5 g.
3 .13.4.3 High temperature arming. The S&A assembly after
being conditioned at a temperature of +150°F ± 5°F for 3 hours
minimum shall arm between 0.70 and 0.90 second when subjected to
an arming acceleration of 55.0 ± 0.5 g.
3.14 Molded Electronics assembly (Module time delay
The module shall function within ± 2 .0 percent or
function).
+65/-125 milliseconds, whichever is greater, not including
instrumentation errors, of the set time at anbient temperature
and +2.5%/-2.0% or +65/-125 milliseconds, whichever is greater,
not including instrumentation errors, of the set time at hot and
cold temperatures. The firing output pulse shall provide at
least 1,000 ergs in less than 100 microseconds into an M84
detonator or equivalent load.
3.15 Module thermal shock. The module shall withstand the
thermal shock test per MIL-STD-331, Test C7.
3.16 S&A Position. The safe position of the S&A's shall be
verified just prior to issuance for fuze final assembly; limited
to a maximum of a half day's production. After insertion of the
S&A, fuze handling shall be controlled to preclude any chance of
inadvertent arming.
3.17 Charge circuit continuity (fuze unarmed). The unarmed
fuze shall be tested for continuity through its umbilical lead
with a government approved test set. If there is no government
approved test set available, the contractor shall design a charge
circuit continuity test set that provides an output pulse of 40
mamps maximum for a period of 0.10 msec. maximum.

interface characteristic and shall not be altered or
changed without an approved Government Deviation/Waiver
or ECP.
The accept/reject requirement of the umbilical cable and the
charge c ircuit of the firing capacitor is:
Reject as an open circuit if measured resistance is
greater than the resistance of a 2.25 kohm resistance
connected in series with the charge circuit of the
firing capaci tor.
