MIL-F-48877A (AR)
3.9 Separation of annular gear from number 2 sear & pinion
assembly.
The separation distance between the annular gear and
number 2 gear and pinion, when the rotor and number 2 gear are at
their extreme separated position in the S&A, shall be .038 inch
maximum.
3.10 Alignment of detonator cavity. The detonator cavity.
when the rotor is in the free armed detented position, shall be
in line with the outside diameter of the rotor housing within
.060 in. of Total Indicator Reading (TIR) functionally.
3.11 Continuity and insulation resistance. The S&A
assembly, shall satisfy the continuity and insulation
requirements specified in Table I of this specification.
TABLE I.
S&A continuity and insulation requ irements.
3.12 Detonators. Detonators, prior to assembling to
rotors, shall meet the requirements of MIL-D-45495.
3.13 Loaded S&A assembly. Appropriate safety precautions
shall be taken in testing for the following requirements.
3.13.1 Load test of detonator. The detonator shall not
move more than. 005 inch when a push out force of 5 pounds is
applied to the detonator socket.
3.13.2 Continuity through detonator (armed). The
resistance measured between terminals 3 and 4 shall be 3.5 ± 1.5
ohms.
3.13.3 Non arming. The rotor assembly in the loaded S&A
shall not arm when subjected to an arming acceleration of 12.0 ±
0.5 g's minimum for a period of 5 seconds. This test may be
performed with a simulated detonator.
3.13.4 S&A arming. The S&A assembly, after being
temperature conditioned, shall meet the following requirements.
