PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY
5.1 Packaging, level A. The assembled warhead shall be packaged
in fiver cans in accordance with Drawing F8886811.
5.2 Packing, level A. Four warheads packaged as specified in 5.1
shall be packed in two layers of two each within wood ammunition boxes
as specified on Drawing C8886810. When warheads are shipped as part of
a complete unassembled round, packing shall conform to Picatinny Arsenal
Drawing 9209570.
5.3 Marking. Marking of unit packages and snipping containers
shall be accomplished in accordance with the instructions shown on
Drawings F8886811 and C8886810, except that the descriptive nomenclature
shall be "Warhead 2.75 inch Rocket, Smoke, WP, M156." The container
shall be marked with arrows and the word "UP" in accordance with the
requirements of MIL-STD-129.

NOTES
6.1 Intended use. This item is intended for use as a conponent of
an air to ground rocket carried by aircraft.
6.2
Procurement documents should specify the following:
Ordering data.
(a) Title, number and date of this specif ication.
(b) The proving around that will proof test the rockets.
(c) The agency that will supply the rocket motor if supplier
is to assemble rocket motor to warhead.
(d) The agency that will assemble the rocket if supplier is not
to assemble rocket motor to warhead.
(e) Record of proof testing results shall be sent to the
Commanding Officer, Edgewood Arsenal, ATTN:
Arsenal, Maryland 21010.
6.3 Caution. Due to the hazards of loading warheads, installations
are advised to take all possible precautions to protect personnel from
injury while loading warheads.
6.4 Cleaning. The exterior surface of the loaded warhead may
be cleaned by passing through a hot water and detergent spray washer
prior to fuzing.
