(Copies of specifications, standards, drawings, and publications
required by the contractors in connection with specific procurement
functions should be obtained from the contracting activity or as
directed by the contracting officer.)
2.2 Order of precedence. In the event of a conflict between
the test of this specification and the references cited herein
(except for associated detail specifications, specification sheets
or MS standards), the text of this specification shall take
precedence. Nothing in this specification, however, shall supersede
applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been
obtained.
REQUIREMENTS.

3.1 Materials. Materials shall be in accordance with
applicable drawings and specifications.
3.2 Molded or plastic compo nents. All molded and plastic
components shall be in accordance with applicable drawings and
specifications.
3.3 Fuze assemblies and parts. The fuze assemblies and parts
shall comply with all requirements specified on drawing 9260886 and
associated drawings and with all requirements specified in
applicable standards and specifications. Ambient temperature is
defined as 7O°F ± 15°F unless otherwise specified.
3.3.1 Spring embrittlement. None of the springs used in the
fabrication of the Safety and Arming Device (S&A) shall break when
extended to the point of minimum permanent distortion.
3.3.2 Spring set. The setback spring Dwg. 8883718, after being
subjected to a temperature of 175°F to 180°F at a compressed
length of . 750 inch for 24 hours and then allowed to cool at ambient
for 24 hours, shall return to within .015 inch of its original free
length.
